Should be picking up my 99 Legend Saturday if all goes well. I've been dallying with the idea for some time kinda off and on about it, E bay searches and such, checking prices. Then my dealer gets a black one in on consignment and makes me an offer I just can't turn down. Now ya'll know my TBA is my first love but what can I say? those Triples are pretty sexy too. So fingers crossed! Chy

I am P-twin man but I do agree on your triple take. I know the Legend and the T-Bird are basicly the same bike but lean toward the T-Bird. If I found A good deal on a Legend I would love to have one. I'm just curious how are the availability of parts on these bikes?

Yep.. got it... sweet machine.. First impressions? Very light and quick.. a little hesitation but I'm sure that can be corrected. Handles like a Triumph but unfortunately with stock pipes, it has the same whisper jet technology that Pete was using this year. Really good decel.. just shut down the throttle and hold on... who needs brakes? Needs some rubber, a good bath, a tune up and a good servicing and I think she'll be cherry. Bought some of those Triumph jeans with kevlar while i was there.... they fit perfectly, also got some way cool riding boots so i've almost got the whole metro biker look going on. I'd love to stay and chat but I've got a Legend outside that desperately needs some highway time.. have to admit, I do miss my BA but theres always tomorrow...

Evaluation: Hmmmmm.. this could be dangerous.... I was headed out the 19 twisties to give her a run in when a thunder boomer started moving in. So me not having my rain gear with me decide to try to outrun the sucker home. It stayed on my heels, lightning bolts and all but I did get into the pole barn before the heavy stuff. Man! lots of torque. it rolled right on past 80 and was still pulling hard at half throttle. Yikes!
Okay.. first day ...over 80 mph.. fresh scrub on the tires and I got rained on.. sounds like a proper christening to me. I'll get some pics up once I get her scrubbed clean and shiny.

I got to see the new bike up close, thanks for stopping by on your way home. The bike looks great and I really like the color. Wow, I stopped and thought about it, a 99 model...it sure does not look like a bike that is probably close to 8 years old..I thought it was fantastic.

Wish I had his exhaust.. I really like the 2 and 1 look. Been polishing all evening..it was badly in need of some attention. When Di got home, she pitched in and we almost got her/him standing tall till I gave out before the second half of the rear wheel. I'll see if I can finish it up sometime tomorrow if I can work it in. Next order of business.. rubber.. It's cool having a triple...

Oooooooh yeah.. peppy little critter. Glad I got to scuff the tires a little further over than the previous owner before the T-storm made me run for home. Get some good rubber and I'll have to give it the Wolf Pen Gap test..

You made it home before the heavy stuff, lucky you. I was out trying to put some break-in miles on my Daytona today and the last 30 miles was nothing but rain. I pulled into a gas station with lots of pumps (plenty of cover) and sat for about 20 minutes while the really hard stuff came down. Not having any room for a rainsuit kinda sucks but this isn't a bike I expect to have out in the rain a lot.
I did about 250 miles today and I'm getting a better feel for the bike (not as sore as I was when I did the first 100 miles). Four hours on nottwistyenough roads with a sportbike is no fun.

Nice!! Always liked how nice the forks and tripple trees looked on those bikes. And I think that is the same color my friend has. Really looks nice in the sun! Are those fold down hiway pegs on the front?

I LOVE IT!!! Nothing like cruising at 90mph and being put back in the seat as you accelerate to 110. I haven't got it faster than that yet because I AM AFRAID. It handles the off road quite nicely. I have had it on several trails that are made for 4x4 only and it handles well. I love it. But I really like that legend of CHys. I almost bought a used legend instead of a TBA.
