Interesting. I should note that I didn't have this problem (on a '04 America). I checked my receipt and also had the EBC rotor left MD601LS along with the EBC Sintered pads FA196HH from Motorcyle Accessory Warehouse (MAW). Anyway, I thought the install was fairly straighforward.
