Seems like there has been a rash of new Triumph riders on the board lately...maybe it's springtime and such but I think it's great. And they all are excited and attitudeless (Just like everyone on this forum...RIGHT? ).

As some would fear, I don't think there is any risk of Triumph becoming the average joe bike anytime soon.

Actually, I've been seeing more & more Triumphs, which is great.
As you say, no threat of our bikes becoming the same old, same old anytime soon.
I was at a bike blessing on Sunday with almost 200 bikes and mine was the only Hinkley Triumph in a sea of HDs and riceburner cruisers. There were only 2 Victory bikes.

It's nice riding a unique machine.

Met a guy riding a black bonnie today,About a week ago I met another guy on a tiger, still havent seen any new speedies or Americas pot up in the area.

I am one of the said newbies- though not new to riding entirely- but mostly- though definitely new to Triumph ownership! What exactly is a bike blessing? I've read about those online these past few days but haven't gotten a good definition?!?!

Funny...I pulled into a parking lot today. A truck was pulling out of a spot and I saw him circle back around, pull up next to me and proceed to discuss the bike for the next 15 minutes.
As I was leaving that store the LP guy chatted with me about my bike.
Later that day I went into another store and the GM walked me back to look at his HD...but when we got out to my bike he sat on it and told me stories about the Triumph he used to ride...all this today in the span of a few hours.
I also have to be honest and say I do get a charge out of seeing another Triumph on the road.
I think the more people see these bikes the more of them will make it back to the dealership.

A Bike Blessing is a gathering of riders that want their bike, as well as themselves, blessed for the new riding season. My club (ministry) has one every April. We had about 120 bikes at ours this year. We usually go on a 50+ mile ride and return to the church for a free bbq.

Yup. Here in N.Z. its "the baby boomers" . Children born after WW2. With their kids all grown up now Dad has a few extra dollars in the kitty. Everybody admired the Bonnies when they were about. Soooooo ( lightbulb ) I think I will buy a new bike........

Although I am one of the newbies aboard, I have been riding about 45 years. For many of those years, I was one of those idiots that thought that motorycle meant HD, and no other bike was a true motorcycle. Then I jumped on a Valk one day, and quickly deserted the HD world. I love the fact that I am yet to see a Bonnie on the road. Every other rider and his brother - especially certified yuppies has either a Harley, or nowadays the more preferred yuppie ride - a chopper. They think they are different, but to me they are lemmings and we are the "different" group!

I sure hope these new folks all have their official Triumph GREEN CARD with 'em, just in case Phil and the Boys decide to do a raid on this here place one day!!!

(I got mine years ago, right after John Bloor decided to cross The Pond with his new Triumphs, ya know...or was that the Pink Slip?....eahh...whatever!)

I am part of the new influx of Triumph riders, but I'm not a new rider.

Funny thing, I picked up my 07 America last saturday and today I take my wife down to get her newest tat finished and our artist has his bike outside. It's a Triumph Legend. I think he said it was a 2000, but I'm not sure about that.

I saw my first Triumph BA ridden by somebody who wasn't me last week. I know that there are several around Fresno ~~ but that was the first one I have seen. It was an 07.

The next town over there is a guy with the same year, pipes and color as my speedy. You should have seen the look on his face the first time we passed each other on the road. I couldn't hit that Uturn fast enough.
There are 5 or 6 BA/speedys that I see on a regular basis. Heck 1 even showed up on a club ride last year.

Yes, some of us are new to Triumphs, but that doesn't make us 'new riders'. Had my first bikes three decades ago, skipped a few years after marriage and the kids were small, then got back to bikes when disposable income went up enough to afford more than the minimum family car required for basic transportation. Now I have a few cars, a truck, and as of last week, a new Speedmaster. I first saw the new series Bonnevilles about five years ago when someone stopped on an America at the corner where I live. I was outside at the time and noticed the different cadence from the pipes. It wasn't HD or metric twin, so it got my attention. When I turned to look, I was impressed not just by the sound, but it just had that classic look that I prefer. A year or so later I saw a Speedmaster and I knew that was what I wanted when the time and money were right. Now that the deal is done, I'm quite satisfied and am thoroughly enjoying both the bike and this forum.

I've been lurking forever and finally decided to sign up. Have an 03 Speedmaster now but have been riding since I was a kid. This is my first Triumph and won't be my last!!

I'd ride another cb750, tho. I had a 78 that literally sat in a shed for 11 years, when I filled the carbs with gas (the tank was rusty) and put a battery in it she started on the 3rd kick

My neighbor had one of those. Thing was siezed up tight and given to him. He let it sit with oil in the cylanders and tried the kicker every day. One day it broke loose. Trouble was it was in his living room and shot dirty oil all over the walls and cieling!! But after that he rode that for years with no work done to it. No rings or anything.

I'm another newbie. Bought my slightly used '04 America last Saturday (5400 mi) and immediately rode 90 miles home where it's been parked awaiting a handlebar change and some new oil and filter. What a pleasing bike even with the cramped (but oh-so-cool) bars; I'm still smiling from the first ride and itching to get out again.

What bars are you changing to, Ed?

Thursday morning at 8:00 am on 691 West in Meriden, CT. a black and red 05 TBA past me, noticed a pony tail all the way down the back to the top the leathers.

Also noticed some very nice soft curves on the rider, upon catching up with said rider, it would appear that this was a fine speciman of the opposite sex with a very pretty smile.

Boy did that bike fit said rider well. Anyone in CT. might know said rider.
