One sings in A when the other sings A flat.   (sorry couldn't resist) Honestly, If they are way off, You'll notice an inconsistant idle, poor throttle response, and lower mpg. Get a set of Mercury sticks and a shop manual or take it in to the shop, it's really pretty easy to do it yourself though.
