Hiya Stewe
Sounds tempting but events have moved on and it looks like I'll be spending the next couple of weeks packing up house .. moving to Burton-upon-Trent.
I thought I'd have a couple of months but someone is interested in the house and it benefits both parties to move quickly.
My next plan is to get settled in the house for a couple of weeks then I'm off to southern Spain, via Portugal (!) on the bike for the middle two weeks of August.
I'll be a busy boy for a couple of months ..

I guess I'd like all the Brits out there to give their input: which would you prefer, "Limey" or "Jaffa?"

I think "Sir" would be just fine .

Too many good moments in OF&H :
Grandad undoing the wrong nut on the chandalier,
Del falling through the bar opening and saying Trigger was cramping his style,
Trigger saying the baby was named " .. Rodney, after Dave .."

HA HA HA....thank you Adey.

I reading this and remembering what a brilliant show this is...cracking up mate...cracking up.

We, in England, ( ) know there aren't many countries out there that like the 'Empire'.
But you've gotta admit, for a while there we had it covered, eh?
What was it, 1/2 or 2/3 of the globe, or something?
From this little island .. not too bad ......

OK, Michael Portillo happened to mention it on TV tonight, it was a ¼ of the globe.
Still not bad for a little island ...

Adey,
Where have I been...working mate. May and June are two of my busiest months of the year. Arrainging and running and going to 4 soccer tournaments, then going to Dallas to watch a soccer tournament for 7 days and in the middle of all that was a long weekend in Indianapolis for the Formula 1 Tire Testing Session. So in the last six or seven weekes I have had very little time for logging on.

But im back now and ready to entertain, educate, and inform our readers .

Not long till the foottie season starts again. Bring it on, 6 weeks with out Arsenal on the box is unbarable. I see the Baggies canceled their tour of the US. LA Galaxy decided to cancel the game with your boys and play Real Madrid instead. Well i guess i can see some sense in that, Real are going to put more bums in seats than West Brom. Bad news for you the West Brom fans who made vacation plans though.

I see on another thread that you are moving house. Good luck with that..moving, what a nightmare. We moved into out house back in November and i still got boxes of stuff in the garage to go through.

A friend who moved to San Diego last year hasn't commented yet but he is a MAD Baggies fan so will be VERY pissed!!!

As for putting bums on seats, is soccer that well followed that Real will mean more to the American soccer fan than, say, West Brom or even Wednesbury Paper Boy First XI ???

I noticed this story today and read that West Brom had organised flights / accomodation / visas etc.
I imagine there will be a few annoyed PA's somewhere.

As for moving, I've moved a couple of times in the last 5 years and still have stuff up the loft from the first move!
My brother helps me move and this time, I've told him we'll have a long wheelbase van and a skip on the drive.
What doesn't fit in the van will fit in the skip!!
(That's a big dumpster for the Americans reading this).

I'm moving to Burton-upon-Trent so I'm much nearer to the Peak District etc. Great riding roads though heavily policed at weekends (bikes/cars/helicopter) when the crotch rocket brigade roar around like loons, spoiling it for everyone else.
