I wonder how many Americas and Speedies are out there in these United States..that get ridden at least 12K or so a year since 2002 alone?
I don't think I hafta go too far out on a limb to say that there's many more of you 12k a year riders down south than there are here up north...
If by 12k, you mean 12 kilometers, 12 miles or even 120 miles, then, yeah, that pretty much sums up my riding time since moving up here....

Love to, BUT, wifey works most weekends, which kind of 'splains the whole lack o'mileage. Well that, and the deathly fear of crossing I-84 mornings and afternoons! BUT, next weekend, being the GREAT and WONDERFUL hubby that I am, I am packing the wife off to SC to visit old friends, go see Hootie and the Blowfish (one of her friends down there went to High School with Hootie back in Charleston), and packing the young'uns off to Grandma and Grandpa in Columbia, SOOOOO, I might be up for a little get together. Not sure how far I'll be able to go, as my shoulder has gone to crap since moving here (got a docs appointment on Monday afternoon, hopefully he'll give me something to square it away!), but I'll give it the old college dropout try...

I have never had a problem with my SM. I keep it well maintained with regular fluid changes and cleanings. 23k later, I am still loving it!!

my 03 speedmaster has 80,000 miles. no major problems. spedo cable broke once. replaced battery twice. chain guard broke twice only replaced once. (who needs that thing anyway). Had clutch cable break but that was due to changing bars and had it in a bind. 4 sets of tires. chain and sprokets numerous times. Been running AMSOIL since the 2nd oil change. I use a cleanable UNI air filter. I run the cheapest gas i can find and ride the ****** out of it. that bike hasn't seen an easy day since it was broken in. Hands down the most dependable ride i have ever had.

only ignition problem was the first time it rained when i had my front fender off. A little silicone around the plug wire connection to ignition solved the cutting out. have been running the nology wires from newspeedmaster for a while without any problems.
