I`ve started to hear,feel a funny click in my clutch as I pull it in to waite at a redlight.I pull in the clutch and two or three seconds later I sence the pressuer plate or the clutch plates themselves popping free.This has not had any adverse effect on the exceleration of my bike but it is anoying to feel and hear this sticktion releaseing sound.Has anyone else had this happen?It started out as an occational thing but is getting quite regulare.

You sure it's the clutch plates, and not a worn/frayed cable? If the clutch & pressure plates were sticking the bike'd be pulling forward even when you're sitting on the clutch. Try putting a wrench on the clutch arm and releasing the clutch with that, and see if you get the same sensation.

I've heard of some clutch plates sticking on the regular Bonnies but this is the first of our kind. Try changing the oil to see if it helps. There might be some crud in it now.
If all else fails, you can always pull the clutch out and clean the plates, mic them to see if they are in spec first, then reassemble with a lot of oil between each plate.

A question, has anyone ever been in there before? If the alignment is off (some of the early models especially) it will stick and make noise. There seems to be about 3-4 different versions of the throwout bearing assembly and clutch axles. It depends which one you have what the fix might be. Of course there is only one way to determine which one you have. It needs to be in your hands to see.

I've checked the cable,OK,it's only been 1k sence 500 mile oil change.It was done at the dealer but I don't know if full synthetic was put in at that time.The origial owner took it in for it's 500 miler and fell in love with the new tripple so traded.Dealer tells me all service was done.I tend to agree with Dinqua first thing is change the oil,is 2k to soon for synthetic?

I believe my bike is making the same type of noise, only at start up and the first few minutes. I'm halfway into an oil change with Mobil 1 V-twin oil inside.
When I start the bike, ride out to the first stop sign, pull in the clutch and come to a complete stop I hear a slight "sproing" from somewhere internal. At first I thought it was the rear brake but ruled that out. After that first stop sign, the noise doesn't return. Maybe I'll try adjusting the clutch cable. I'm a few miles over 10k on my '02.
