I think the left side shift is a world standard now (except Indian Enfields). I prefer it anyway, even though I was used to the right side back in the day.

Triumph has been known for parallel twins and triples for some time. The old air-cooled triples had some heat problems with the center cylinder, at least in the summer heat here. So liquid cooling is the obvious solution.
I would definitely consider a liquid cooled twin if it helped to make a larger displacement cruiser a reality. That's one of the challenges of larger displacement air cooled parallel twins; getting the inner sides of the cylinders to cool.
But maybe they've beat it. Time will tell.
