Morning Guys,
OK, I've got Long TOR's, rejeted carbs, the AI is removed. What is this snorkle thing I keep reading about? Where is it and way take it off?

Take off your seat and look at the air filter. Can you see down in to it? If not grab the rubber thing in the middle and pull it out.

Saber, pull off your seat. In the top cover of your airbox, under the seat, you'll see a big black rubber tube sticking up. That's the snorkel, get rid of it. Then, down inside the airbox, toward the front, you can feel two more rubber tubes, about 1 inch in diameter. These are the other two snorkels, which you can remove by gently pulling rearwards on them. It will simply allow a little freer flow of the air into your carbs, and so far, I don't think anyone has seen any negative effects from doing so (the top of the airbox is pretty well protected from rain, debris, etc... by the seat and frame rails).

OK, so more air into the carbs. Do I need to rich-en up the mixture a bit more then too?

Depending on his year and model he might not have the other snorkels. My 05 Speedy only had the top one.
Since you already did the rejet I would guess your good, but watch the plugs.

pulling the snorkle out when i get to the house this afternoon. what's the direct benefit from it? just more air circulation?

yes just lets the engine breathe better on some years there are 2 more to remove.

more air, more power, now you need more fuel.

slightly throatier sound as well....

That's the selling point for me!! Better sound!!

dont forget to replace the factory air filter with a k&n or uni-filter, that will also make a difference

then get the Freak and get a real difference.

Freak would be next on my agenda. relatively simple install, correct?

yes very easy. Hardest part is removing the airbox unless you cut it up or break it. Freak comes with main jets too.

pulled the snorkle off.... no big deal. but there wasn't two more inside the box. only what felt like two big holes with a wall in the middle. i'm assuming that the 06 only has the one on top, saber.
