I'll be there for sure, usually ride down with Snekepte and Oz.
I was hoping to have my '66 ready, but that clock is ticking just a little too fast.

I'll be there for sure also, gonna try to get lylesdo to ride up with me. If anyone else from northern VA is going let me know. Maybe we can hook up for the ride there.

Doug:
The Virginia Britich Motorcycle group is riding in from Purcellville. Let me know if you want details on the meeting spot. Nice group of guys (led by Rich, the guy who organized the Leesburg Vintage Rally). We met them by accident last year in route from Frederick.

I found 4 different Germantown MD locations on mapquest.
Anybody know where it is, or what county?
G

I never wanted to lead, and I never wanted to follow. I just wanted to ride.

Here's the right one:
The RIGHT Germantown MD

And the website for Butlers Orchard, where the event is held. Let us know where you coming from, there are groups all over heading down.

Here's the email Rich sent the DC/Balt RAT groups:

If you're coming from the South and want to ride to Butler's Orchard with a group, feel free to join the Potowmack River Chapter of the Virginia British Motorcycle Club. We will be leaving at 9:30 from the usual location, the Purcellville Marketplace (FKA the Purcellville Pharmacy), 711 East Main St., in (you guessed it) Purcellvile, VA.

To recap:

What: Group ride to British & European Classic Motorcycle Day, Butler's Orchard, Germantown, MD. (http://www.classicmotorcycleday.org/)

When: 9:30am, Sunday, May 20, 2007

Where: Purcellville Marketplace, 711 East Main St., Purcellvile, VA

Chase truck will follow. All brands welcome.

We ought to have a Triumph Bonneville America meet. How about 1 PM at the sign up tent?

FWIW, I always park in the show field. Cost is the same, you get a pin and there is more parking room. I never win anything, and don't think a cruiser ever will, but what the heck.

most of us that are going live within an hour of the event.
I have room if you want a place to stay.
I live on the PA/MD state line 15 miles SE of Gettysburg.
about 1 hour north of the event.

Thanks for your offer, but we'll be staying nearby at a motel.
Just wanted to see if anyone else would be staying around.

The organizers (The Nation's Capital Norton Owners ncno.org) are looking for some help. If you're planning on attending, what the heck, may as well help out.
Message from Rich of the VBMC below (he also sent this to the DC Rats):

The Nation's Capital Norton Owners (ncno.org) need our help. Don, the guy organizing the traffic direction detail, needs about 19 more people to help on Sunday. I asked him if he wanted help from the VBMC, and he said he would love to have us.

Those that help get a free admission AND T-SHIRT (!), and I'm thinking we should be able to get the VBMC (and the DC Triumph group?) mentioned over the PA system.

If you want to help, please LET ME KNOW ASAP. Arrangements need to be made in advance so that you get your passes.

Spoke to my neighbor last night. The retired Triumph shop owner, Bob Myers. They asked him to be a judge. I'm going to ride down with him. Should be interesting to watch him look over the bikes.

Don't worry Al.
the only thing I will have in the bags is my rain gear.
so unless you buy something big , it will fit in one of the
bags.

Pete,

By the time Kasey got his a-s out of bed it was kind of late to head out to Butler’s Orchard. Anyway after he did get up he had a towing job he had to handle. Oh well, I guess I’ll see you at Triumph Comes Home as long as the weather holds…

Hey, it was great meeting you guys down there.
I've never seen so many Triumphs in one place!

After a very dirty 300 mile ride down, I had the luck of parking next to maybe the best-looking red/black Speedmaster in attendance, PA Tom's beautiful custom bike. I hope he won something!

Kevin:
That was quite a turnout. It was great to meet you and some of the other owners. I didn't get to spend nearly enough time in the show field, using my time to scrounge for vintage parts (came up empty).
They will post results of the concours shortly. That PA bike was incredible.
Glad you made it home safely.
If we can get enough owners together, maybe we could do a dinner or something the night before next years event.

Hi Pete, That was me parked beside you, Doug (Presto)
That bike of Tom's from PA was very nice, looked like he put alot of time into it. I'm still not sure about that right side sucide shifter. I did like the way he customized the rear fender. I am planning on going to the Triumph Come Home on Saturday, which day or days were you all going to be there?
Doug

p.s. Al, thanks for giving me the info for the VBMC, I had a great time riding over with those guys.
