I'm looking for a recommended dealer near Northern Virginia. My 02 America is running fine, but at some point I'm probably going to need some service and as I'm an electronics guy and not a mechanical guy I could use some recommendations. Right off the bat, I know I need an oil change. I'll talk resistors and diodes with you, but oil filters are foreign to me. I know my way around tools, but is this something I can do myself or should I leave it to the "professionals"? I appreciate any advice.

oil filters are forgin to all of us...Japan I think!! LOL
Oil change is simple remove drain plug let drain (will drain faster if you warm up first but watch burning yourself)
Remove filter.
I like to fill new filter with oil don't have to but I think it's a good idea.
smear a little oil on filter gasket.
make sure area on engine is clean where filter seats.
replace drain plug.
install new filter (don't over tighten)
remove oil cap at right rear of cylanders in the case.
fill with reccomended oil and reccomended amount. (Amsoil in my opinion)
ride it like ya stole it

Do it yourself. It's a very simple process not requiring a lift of any sort. Where you at in Northern VA? I'm in Manassas and can give you a hand.

Sounds simple enough. Couldn't hurt having a pro around though! Thanks for the info.

NO!!! Not YOU Pete.....
While at the GA rally Pete rejetted (both) and tuned out (needles too) the carbs on one of the dealers employees bike...at the Sat pm party... Kinda funny that the dude from the dealer comes to the house with brandy new D&D pipes soundin like sh!t and within min his brand new bike is in pieces (not that the dealership couldnet do it he just threw the pipes on before leaving...)

Hey! I'm in Reston! We should get together -- I've been messing around with my '03 quite a bit, hopefully I can give you some pointers. --Jaeger
