Stopped by my dealer yesterday to pickup some of the new crome rear peg hangers that are on the 07's. They look much better than the stock hangers on my '05 BA. I also switched to the new chrome sprocket cover. Overall a much better look on the America. Anyhow, the dealer mentioned he had seen pictures of the new America with a 1200cc parallel twin and fuel injection disguised as carbs. Said Triumph was looking to capture more of the highway cruiser types. He also said that there was a redesign of the RIII for 2008 that had a smaller tank and redesigned radiator to give it a better overall look. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Exactly. I have decided not to give into any more rumors about a new crusier until it really happens since the rumor has been around for a few years now.

My sources tell me it'll be two 865cc parallel twins cobbled into a 1730cc square four that'll blow away the V-twin competition. Shaft drive borrowed from the Rocket.
I can't imagine they'd make a smaller Rocket tank since they're trying to market it with a touring option.

Ed, I hear that new cruiser is going to have a full line of agricultural attachments - should be the ticket down on the ranch. I saw the new add "Ride a Legend-Plow in style"

I thought it was two 865- one for the front wheel and one for the back and the chassis articulated in the middle. At speed under 5mph it was 'zero’ turn to assist in parallel parking.

Right you are, but not quite complete. It's a 360 degree articulation with a cantilevered air/cable suspension to eliminate front end dive during hard braking.

Cycle World June 2007 issue quotes Todd Anderson, Triumph VP marketing... "that two new cruisers will be announced in the next 12 to 18 months. I think you can figure out where (in the product line) the new one will be. One will be all new and one will be a derivation of an existing model." They imply one will be a triple and that because cruisers are so big in the US market, ..."the likely 2009 release (will be a) big Twin."
Surely, Triumph will stay with the TBA/TBS style rather than than the gaudy, over blown Rocket. Cutting down a Rocket to 1200 would make no sense at all and be a horrible mistake.
I'm sorry, but the more I look at the Rocket, the less it looks like something from Triumph. Even the Korean bikes are more restrained styling wise. I think a 1200 big twin TBA/S would be a great seller and kick their sales in the butt.

2009! Sorry, I'm not sure I can wait that long. Victory already makes a bike I like. Now.

Agreed. Polaris makes pretty motorcicles, and pretty ATVs. I like the Victory, but I won't buy one 'till they take Polaris off the name plate. Why two names plus a model. That's like a Yamaha Star - VStar, RoyalStar, RoadStar.
