Thanks all, I love the colours as well, I was going to be happy with black, but as I had no trade in and my dealer had the Pacific Blue/New England white in stock I got it for the same price, also got the short TORs at a good price and I fitted the AI plugs during the week. I do have a better photo but its to big a file to post and my photo softwear has dissapeared!! Any volunteers to resize it for me ?

James, The pipes are the Short Triumph Off Roads, (dare I say it box says made in China) My dealer Philip McCallen set the carbs up for them and will readjust now I have the AI plugged at the first service.

Definitely ditch the air box, and you really need the george foreman sprocket cover instead of the chrome one, I just happen to have one I'll trade ya!!! Great looking bike, congrats!!! P.S. I guess the wheels are growing on me, they look good in that pic with those colors....

No offence but those wheels don't look as good up close. Kinda rough like they are unfinished. I liked them until I saw them up close.
I guess those and the new SM wheels are a step in the right direction though. The one thing I was never happy with on my SM was the wheels look mis matched.

I definately agree on the spoke look but takes more work to keep them true and clean. I'm getting lazy in my old age! LOL

Has anyone tried that polishing ball by Mothers? I wonder how it would hold up using it on spokes, it would definitely make things easier, but I don't know if it would last long.

I have the small mothers buff ball on a stick thing. Lolipop, whatever. Haven't tried it on the spokes yet, but I plan on it! So far, I've been ripping strips of T-shirt and flossing the spokes.

Nice Bike!! The polish ball works just ok on the old spoke wheels. (in my humble opinion). It will start self destructing after 3-4 applications....at least mine did, and I thought I was treating it fairly nice.... Scott

That is beautiful. I love the color. I almost wish I'd have waited 5 years to get one. Naah! I need to go by a new blue one. Hey, I have this really cool chrome "retro" sprocket cover that I'll swap with you! It has ridges throughout the length about 30mm apart. It would look really good on your bike. Wanna Swap?
Just kidding. The new smooth ones are cheaper to buy than our old "george foreman grill" designed ones.

Cheers guys, I agree you either love or dont the wheels, I prefer the alloy wheels, don't have to worry about spokes snapping (not unknown). However they will require a bit of looking after, the finish is bare polished aluminum (not lacquered) on the rims and the outside of the cast spokes, the inner parts of the spokes appear to be painted. Rather like polished rims on a streetfighter/sportsbike. So will have to spend a bit of time on them. As I said I was considering a black America and had thought the wheels would have looked cool powder coated black. still might happen in a while. I also believe they have been known as Wagon Wheels on the forum, I'm going to take it back a bit further and call them CHARIOT WHEELS Thanks for the offer but I think I shall hang on to the sprocket cover.

I thought nice scenary, and nice colour... and I STILL DON'T LIKE THE WHEELS! Sorry, but you'll never change that...
I saw a blue one close up this morning and if it wasn't for those wheels I might have waited and got the blue one instead of my black one... (He can't hear it's ok...he's feeling a little unloved at the moment and me saying that might just send him back to the dealers...)
Yeah....you really don't want to swap the sprocket cover...
Gina
03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel...
06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel...
09 America - It's very blue....
