I bought an 07 Speedmaster last month. The sales guy at the dealership accidnetly gave me an owner's manual for a Tiger, I took it back a week later to get one for my bike. He told me that the manual wasn't for my specific bike, but was a SM manual. Got to looking at the little warranty book later; it has a page that says something like "make sure the warranty registration sticker with your bike's VIN is on the front cover." Of course, the sticker on mine is for another bike.

So I asked the dealer about it today. He said he didn't have the one for my bike's VIN, but not to worry because "all that is tracked by computer." I was a little worried because I'm probably moving before the 2 years are up, and I don't want to have a problem and a different dealer have a reason to call me out on something like that.

Should I be concerned? Any dealers or other knowledgeable folk have any insight?

I am not sure how that is tracked nowadays. But, (unless someone else knows), I will ask my dealer this weekend.

He's kind of correct.

There's things in the handbook that are specific - I take it that bits ok?

The warrenty book......will be ok while you own the bike. Or until you move. The moment you try and sell it on the prospective buyer may take a look at the front cover and see that the sticker is not for that bike and say "were's the one for this bike?" If you go to a another dealer after you move and explain, they'd hopefully be understanding. And they could check it up with Triumph too. (I went to another Triumph dealer to ask about the 06 and he spent 10 minutes on the phone to Triumph discussing the problems I was having)
My book hasn't got the sticker in it. It has the details written in by hand. Go back and ask for a blank book and put your details in by hand.

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

Benny,

Just think about it when you take the bike in to a shop for anything the first thing they ask you for is the Vin #. That is how your bike is registared with Triumph and every Triumph or authorized repair facility is going to have access to Triumphs network to check if you have a valid warrenty by your Vin #. Would you do a $1,000 of warrenty work on a bike just because a guy gave you a book with a sticker on it ?

Like Rob, I do not even have a book, and I bought mine right off the loading dock at Libby's while it was still in the crate.

On the other hand you paid a fair price for your bike and your entitled to have a complete package delivered to you when you picked it up. Who, knows these bikes my become a sort after bike in the future and complete documenation is critical in getting top dollar.

The salesman is going to tell you whatever just to rid of you remember he already sold that bike and there is no money in for him now. If you continue to be a pain in the *** they will come up with that book just to get rid of you.

Good luck.

Well personally I would want the right book just because but as far as warrenty I agree with the last couple posts. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it , all your info is on the computer for warrenty. Just tell them the dog ate your book!

Thanks. No more sleep lost. I don't feel like screwing around with the dealer anymore, so I'll just let the dog eat it or something if it comes down to it.
