If peace of mind comes from knowing it was done by a "professional" than it's worth paying the man. My peace of mind comes from knowing I care more than he does about getting it right. Changing tires can be a hastle but it's not brain surgury. I have had "professionals" put my tires on backwards and they have never been overly careful with the chrome or the balancing. Using crude tools doesn't mean the job is sub-standard or the tire is less safe. My confidence comes from good tires and knowing the guy (me) has a personal interest in the riders life. I just find more and more people mindlessly doing their jobs and wanting more and more money for it.
