I'm looking to buy a set of the Black Studded K-Drive bags and was wondering if any of you guys know of a good place to order them from?. I emailed Brent from newbonneville and he says he doesn't carry the studded ones. any help would be appreciated.

Try Classiccruiser.com Thats where I got my black studded. I got mine on sale free shipping last month for one hundred dollars less than the current retail. (does not look like classic cruiser has them on sale at this time though.)
You will like these! They add something to the bike.

I bought the bags from classiccrusier.com, Thanks for the advice. When you mounted your bags did you use both spacers that came with the bags? I used the spacer on the back bolt but not on the front one, they looked straighter that way.

Yup ..used the one spacer only. I really like these bags. Spacious yet classy and fit the lines of the bike so nice.
And the click/lock on and off is just a great feature. If you choose to ride less the bags the mounts are unobtrusive to the look of the bike

Does someone have pictures of the mounts without the bags? I can only find the picture on newspeedmaster (which is the same as on the k-drive site).
I've been debating back and forth between K-Drive and EZ-Brackets. I'll probably have the bags off more than I have them on.

I would think you have the bracket shown in this picture when the bag is not on the bike. Is that correct ?? http://www.vartex.be/Click%20&%20Lock.htm

Easy Brackets rock!! Wendy and I both have them on our scoots. Don't buy Ghost Brackets. The Ghost Brackets that fit our bikes are the one size fits all variety and not as strong. I got Easy Brackets off Ebay. The guy has them on there regularly for $120. When the bags are off (my bike) they are nice and clean looking all you see is 2 small mounting buttons.

So with the Easy Bracket you have mounting bolt on the bike and the support bracket is on the bag ??....I think that is what I am looking for...when the bag is off the bike there is no bracket or support bracket just a small bolt

I have a couple of questions about the K-Drive bags. Do you unbuckle the straps or do they have hiden snaps or connectors? Second, does the size interfere with passenger riding or footpeg position?

Ya need to move the passenger footpeg to the front (relocate) .....in my opinion.
The straps do not lock on the K-drive.....but its a snap to remove the entire bag or bags and just carry it with you if you have something you would worry about someone stealing. Very handy for motels....just unlock/remove and carry both bags into the room.
The brackets are not as unobtrusive as easy brackets but they are not as ugly as the standard brackets that come with the cheapie throw over Triumph bags.

Yes the support is part of the bracket and comes off when you remove the bags. Very simple a single key onlocks the bracket and then it just lifts off. I have a 3rd set I haven't inbstalled yet I could take some pix if you want and E mail them to you. But you would have to PM me your E mail address. I could also take a shot of my bike with the bag of and one with it on.

Another big thumb's up for Easy Brackets. I love mine.
You may need to add a thin plate inside the bag opposite the bracket to help support the weight. Other than that, they're excellent!

I put a piece of black plexiglass on the outside between the bracket and bag for added support but my other bags are designed to be bolt ons and didn't need anything.

Those don't look too bad but still way more left on the bike than the Easy Bracket leaves.

The two sets of spacers that come with the K-Drives are both for the rear bolts - thin ones with the sissybar, or thick ones without it. Use the ones you need and put the others someplace safe. Because of my bike having a towbar mounted to the same bolts I had to have the thick ones machined down to half width to make it all work (something I couldn't do with easy brackets, despite international phone calls and emails to the guy who makes 'em, who made helpful noises but produced nothing). I've had my K-Drives for over a year - love em. As was mentioned the brackets are more obvious than the easy brackets with the bags off, but they're still not ugly. Besides, I rarely have my bags off, so I don't care. I'd prefer to have the more secure mount between the bags & brackets, without having to modify things with extra plates etc for strength. If I could have one thing changed with my bags, it'd be the addition of quick release snaps below the straps so I don't have to muck about with buckles every time I open the bags.
