Hello all. I've been lurking for a couple weeks now, ever since I got my 2005 Speedmaster.

This is my first bike, and I don't think I could have made a better choice.

It only had 224 miles on the odometer when I picked it up. Now, ten days later, it has over 600 . It came with de-baffled TORs (which honestly are on the verge of stupidloud, but that's what earplugs are for I suppose).

Just wanted to introduce myself before I start asking questions.

Welcome!

Is it a blue Speedy? They're faster, of course.

Welcome and congratulations.
Be sure to change the oil if it hasn't been done already.

"Stupidloud" is relative to personal preference of course. And I can't say it isn't growing on me.

It's jet black, not blue. I'm sure adding a few stickers will give me enough horsepower to make up the difference though.

Oil is being changed tomorrow.

Nahhhhhh! Everyone who rides British Iron knows the Black Speedmasters are the fastest. Special paint. Aerodynamically superior to all other lesser colors of un known distinction.

Bad arse BLACK.

The splash of red on the black tank makes it even faster!

I would open the carbs and make sure it's been rejetted if it has open pipes on it. Don't wanna run lean. If it hasn't had it's first oil change yet do the ASAP!! You still have breakin oil in there!! Go get some Amsoil 20-50 motorcycle oil and fresh filter!!

Hey William, Yeah the "stupid loud" thing takes a little getting used to.....but you will have to wipe the smile off your face the first time those nice loud pipes set off someones car alarm. Welcome and enjoy this site...I'm fairly new myself and there is a wealth of experience and information you can plug into right here!! And you may make a few new freinds along the way as well!!

Welcome. If you come away with nothing else know this:

The all black ones are fastest- less weight- not hauling around all that "excess" paint...

2002 Bandit 1200/ GSXR cams/ 1277 BB Kit/ Holeshot header and can/ 38mm flatslides/ a good head/lotsa hp/lotsa tq- lots of rear tires...

Welcome William (and all other newcomers to this oasis)! sounds like 10,000 miles by the end of the riding season, huh? As far as the stupid loud pipes goes, get yoruself an MP3 player, helps a bunch.
