Comes around to me... made major stupid decision to ride to work today. Weather Channel shows clear today... chance of snow later... NOAA is 60% chance of snow 1-2" late in the day... figured, what the heck, with electric gear, how tough can it be? Well, let me tell you now... if there's a chance of snow, don't go. It started snowing about 1030, and at times coming down pretty good. The entire city of DC seemed to get early release, so I took off around 1. The roads were snow covered and traffic packed. Took a lot of work to keep the tires from slipping. Was concerned about frying the clutch, traffic was that bad. Pulled under a bridge to let things cool off for 30 min and took off again. About a minute later, the bike dies... on a snow convered, traffic packed, interstate 395 in DC. Called AMA MoTow, and am told there is a 4-5 hour wait. Several folks stop and ask if I need help... plenty of good folk out there, but I hesitate to leave the bike. 2 guys in a pick-up stop and ask... and I decide to ride rather than freeze. They say they'll take the bike too! I said, man it's 500lbs, leave it! And then another truck stops and 2 more guys ask if they can help load the bike! Man, it was amazing. They gave the bike and me a ride home, and wouldn't take anything for doing it. Moral of the story... don't ride in the snow!

I owe big!
