The canister in front of the rear wheel is it a vacuum canister or is it part of the AI system. If it is part of the AI can I remove it

Get it off of there. You have the infamous california emissions set up. My bike although purchased in Az was a CA model. Take both the canisters off and all the residual tubing as well.

yes , what he said. all 07 models come with california emissions. remove all the crap under your bike and put rubber caps on all the vacume ports ( 4 )

That stuff won't hurt anything and it could slightly improve your fuel economy because you burn the fuel vapors that would otherwise escape into the atmosphere. If you do decide to take it all off, be sure to balance the carbs.
