Paula- I read Williams' trilogy "Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn" back when it first came out- very cool. Jordan's "Wheel of Time" has finally ground to a halt for me, I gave up after 15 years of hoping to get to the end of a 3 year chronicle.
Try S.M. Stirling's "Island on the Sea of Time"- cooler than the other side of the pillow.
