I used a 100 grit with en electric sander to sand it down to bare metal. I put around 4 coats of sandable primor ( sanding between coats)and used a 400 grit to smooth out the primor. I then put 2 coats of Blitz black on sanded with 600 grit between coats. Did the same thing with the Tank only I did not sand it down to bare metal. Sanding down the clear coat is good enough (talked to a friend that does body work) MAKE sure all the clear coat is off.
