Thanks Mattt, I used putty to cover that awful seam at the bottom of the tank. Sprayed the tank at my brother in laws body shop. The rear fender I sanded with 400, 600, then 1000 grit. wiped with alcohol let dry and started spraying coats of paint. After first three coats, I sanded with the 1000 grit again, and kept spraying. I ended up with a dozen coats. My thought being, since its flat black the thicker I put it on next year I can just sand out any light scratches and spray a couple of light coats to keep the color consistant. I think I'm going to use Bobber's idea and check out the J.D. paints.
