I am with you on the rattle can. There is a stronger harder flat black available at your local John Deer Store. Its called Blitz Black. Its a little bit silkier but looks GREAT!!! I used it on my bike and only took two coats to cover the whole fender. It goes on good and thick too with out running or dripping. I think its around $3 or $4 dollars a can. We buy by the case because we have 3 vehicles that are painted with it.
