Yep, parked at work yesterday and someone calls me on the radio and says there is an emergency. I run to the front and he tells me my bike is on it's side. Well some lowlife bumped the rear fender and took off. Only damage is a fold in the rear fender and a bent brake lever. The fender fold is light with no paint crack and I have lots of metal experience so I think I can salvage. Also hit the bar end but I was just ordering a set from Brent.
Tomorrow I will go to the video tape and see if I have a tag number so I can hang em high!!!

That stinks! Hopefully you will be able to figure out who did it and get their insurance to pay for it.

I sure hope it's caught on video, Keith. But don't be surprised if the jerk gives ya the ol' line..."I didn't SEE the motorcycle!" Wouldn't surprise me none if that old line is used as some sort of excuse, EVEN IF the bike was STATIONARY. (NOPE! nothin' much susprises me anymore out there, ya know)

Most likey some bannana head talking on a cell phone. How could you not know you backed into something as big as a bike. I hope the video has him cold, would like to see his face when the cops show up.
Leaving the scence after causing property damage is a serious offense. Cops never going to believe him when he tells them " a bike what bike I did not see any bike".

Almost got hit at a gas pump one time,Kid out joy riding in mommy's suv, whipped around the pumps, trying to baet someone else in, saw bike just in time to pull hard to the right. Missed by about 3 inches.

I know a certain moderator from Montana that backed into his bike while atempting to talk on his phone in his truck. Maybe Freedom can share the story again sometime (I can't find the post)

Anyone know who sells replacement hand controls or should I go aftermarket? What's available out there?
Can't wait to see the video tomorrow. It was directly in front of the building so I know it's on the video just not sure if I will see much cause it was dark.

I replaced my brake lever with an adjustable one YESTERDAY. It's yours dude, at least to get you riding again.

Just got a call from the Ins. Co. of the Jackass that hit my wife's van last Thursday. No coverage. Guess it's off to Small Claims Court for me.

Video can be enhanced to pick out details. Not something you typically get at Radio Shack, but I've got access to a few video "toys". I'd be happy to try if you can get me a copy of the tape. You shouldn't just let it go without trying to get more info, that just ain't right!
