This is what I do:
Set your tire pressures(cold in the am).
Change the oil.(Amsoil or something synthetic)
Make sure your air filters are fresh.
Check your spark plugs (Gaps,etc.)
Fresh Gasoline
If you have a Battery Tender..hook it up the nite before so you know your battery is hot.
I'd make 2 runs on it & see what the Dyno sheets look like & then go home and make my changes-then go back again.When you get it about right the Air/Fuel ratio should be one click to the rich side as the bike has no ram air effect on the dyno(fresh air).
These things done should give you a decent baseline.
