Soap and water and soft cloth so you don't damage the coating. Engine degreaser is OK too if you have some slung oil from the chain etc..

Just posted that in another thread. It looks billet to me but I could be wrong. I'm not sure. The 07s are cast you can see the casting marks. not very well done they look unfinished to me same with the new America rims. They look good from a distance but not up close.

Simple Green takes the chain gunk off with no problem- one wipe- and doesn't (hasn't) hurt the finish.

I think they are die cast Dog. Look at the cut flutes in the rear wheel. Sloppy to say the least. Billet would be totally smooth and polished.
I also don't see Triumph paying for Billet. They didn't even spend the extra money to tuck and finish the flange on the bottom of the gas tanks for goodness sakes. My front Speedy wheel has so much imperfection it looks like its made of painted rod iron lol.
I could be wrong.

What year do you have? The 07s look like that to me. Thats what I meant by unfinished. I never liked the mismatched wheels on my bike but I don't have the cash to do anything about it.Unless I take something I have here like my old 5 spoke Invaders and make those fit. And like I said I wasn't sure. I never looked that close.

Yes they are cast wheels and the simple green takes it all off- brake dust, too.

I use a little Sea Foam on a rag to wipe down the rear rim & spokes. It does a great job breaking down all the gunk * chain lube, then all I have to do is wash with soap to remove the residue left behind.

06 speedy is alum. (magnet test)the wheel has this weird pitting/oxidizing look. I'm not happy with the amount of care it takes to keep it looking good. thumbs down!!!!

I agree, I thought about powder coat, but I wanted 2 tone red and black. I bought a set of America front and rear spokes I likee better than the aluminum wheels. I just need to get off my lazy rear and do something with them.

I like spoke wheels for the look. I hate cleaning them and they need to be trued from time to time , also a pain.I will admit when I bought my SM I really did want spoke wheels.I like the mags now just don't like the kind of mismatched look they have. If they were at least the same color I would be happy.

I use Simple Green and coat the rims with Wheel Wax. This stuff makes them shine, and won't let the brake dust stick as bad....It's what the show car guys use... http://www.blackfireusa.com
