Today I installed my new SS Long cannons on my 2006 TBA, I also have a K&N drop in filter and the Snorkel is removed, The Air Injection is also removed. I did not do any rejetting to the carbs. I took the bike out for a couple of rides and it runs flawlessly. There was no backfiring and there didn't seem to be any flat spots when hitting the throttle, the bike sounds great. My question is this, Is it going to hurt anything if I don't rejet the carbs?

you might. You are probably running lean right now.Do the cannons have baffles in them?

You are probably OK then but I would still dyno to be sure. They are lean from the factory so you may want to dyno it and adjust accordingly. Chances are you are not so lean you will hurt anything. Alot depends on how restrictive or nonrestrictive those pipes are. I never messed with those so I can't be sure. Maybe someone with experience with that particular exhaust can give you a better idea.

Dinquas calculator says 131.5 main so if you are running stock jets you are lean. I guessed your altitude and left everything stock except you said snorkle removed and K&N filter.

SS usually comes with 135's Im running SS short slashs, no snork, Uni (almost identicle to the kn) TBS needles and 45 pilots, don't know how many turns out (I tune by ear and "best idle method" so didn't count turns...vacume ports are cross conected and I'm prob a tad rich...but I still have a healthy gurgle on decel so I'm good (seat of pants dynoed)she pulls strong in all throtle positions with no lag or flat spot's... if they are still running 120's for main's in 06 your most likely WAY to lean on that setup dinq's jet calculator is about dam near spot on...

I like this pipes. But I think they'll be awesome with a slash down or slash cut.

Expecially slash down is something never seen for this bike.

I think a turnout and a turn down are interesting shapes...

The Specialty Spares are available either in long cannons as seen above or long slash cuts. I like the angle of the SS slash cut much better than the Trumph ones. They also sound great!

I was looking at the specialty spares website the other day and noticed that the SS's are dyno'd at 65 rhp. i did't i've been running SS since day 1 but recently swithed to those small turnouts that were talked about in another thread. didn't really notice a power difference at all.

here's my question, is it the jets that matter most or the exhaust. i'm running the same jets on a seperate exhaust now and feel no difference in power. AND 65 is what i heard most guys are dynoing with FREAK kits and several other performance mods. if the FREAK adds another 8 horses, that's 73 rhp. right? not bad.
