As long as you record what maintenance you have done with date and mileage then your warranty will be fine. I did take my bike in for the 500 miles checkup, but I changed the oil and filter before hand and let them know, so I was not charged for that part. Ever since I have maintained a spread sheet recording all maintenance performed. I maintain the spread sheet more so I remember what I have done and when.
If it wasn't for a recall my new truck will never see the dealer (hopefully).
