I am just about to replace the plugs on my 2003 speedmaster and was wondering whether to go for ngk irridium DPR8EIX-9 instead of the std ngk`s. Has anybody any experience or thoughts on these. Cheers Phil

I've got the irridiums in mine.... they're doing great now for about 6000 miles or so.

I have the NKG Iridium plug installed. No big improvement, but there was an improvement. I have only had them in for a little over 1700 miles. I just did a valve adjustment and removed the plugs. Both looked great, didn't even bother to clean them, just put them back in.

Buy the standard plugs and side gap them........cheap and easy.

You can do a search of the forum and find tons of threads about the benefit of side gapping and how to go about it.

I was told the iridiums will last a lot longer then the standard plugs.

Phil,

I have them in mine, but when it comes to my bike I always go with the best. I not sure if there is a huge difference, but right after I installed them I had to re-adjsut the idle looks like it picked up a 1,000 rpm according to tach.

Welcome to the site anything you need to know about your bike you will find here.
