update:
so i took the pipes off and used the broomstick/hammer method to get the baffles out. For fun, i put the empty pipes back on the bike and took it for a spin around the block. i definately understand what the "tinny" description is now.
my question now is, when cutting the batting, do i "shave" it off or is it fine to cut it say in half and have the bare metal showing? i'm assuming it would fine to pull off a chunk of it.
