Hey, just wandering if it's a worthwile trip to Pete's Cycle down in Baltimore, since I am in the general vicinity (Aberdeen Proving Grounds). I am always looking for a new T and just check out some of the different dealerships that I am near. So if anyone out there is familiar with this dealership give me a shout and I will try to make it down this weekend. Thanks, Ron

If you buy a bike from Petes , it should be new.
never buy used and do not let them service your Triumph.

I will not shop there and know others that feel the same.
I also know a man who bought his Triumph there.
Oh the story he could tell you!
he gets parts from them and lets me work on his bike.

I don't trust em.

just my two cents.

I live near Westminster MD and got my 02 America at
Frederick Triumph.
I have bought every other Triumph ( 04 Daytona , 04 Thruxton)
from Clinton Cycles near DC.
Capital Triumph in Harrisburg, I have heard good things ,
never been there my self.

I checked out Pete's when I was first shoppin' around for a Triumph (about 2 years ago). No help whatsoever from the staff. I was pointed in the general direction of the bikes and then when I asked for help I was told they'd get with me and then no one ever came back. Now maybe they were busy elsewhere, but I waited for awhile and then just left. It sounds like it's hit or miss from reading the previous posts. I guess that could be said for any large dealer on any given day though.

I bought my '06 America from Pete's last June. Sales wasn't too bad, they called me to come pick it up and it wasn't ready (I live about 40 miles south). Had some TOR's and other parts put on before it was to be picked up. I asked about re-jetting (if it needed it) because of the TOR's, said everything was fine the way it was. They had to drain the oil and refill because someone overfilled the crankcase . Didn't remove the AI's, not a good way to start off a relationship with a Dealer. They finally shipped to Pete's in Severna Park (about 25 miles closer to me) where I picked it up about three days later. Went back in July for the 500 mile checkup, don't think I'll be back there too soon .

Love the Bike! You decide.

I travel all over the mid-Atlantic and like Johnny Cash, I've been everywhere man, stopped by almost every dealership at least once.

Never bought a bike from Pete's but been in a few times. Seemed decent, but I really value snekepte's opinion, so I'd pass.

Capital Area Triumph near Harrisburg seems to be great. I stop in occasionally and chat with the manager and mechanic. Both are great and the mechanic (short guy), seems to be pretty knowledgeable. The CAT RAT group is small but seems to be very loyal. A friend in PA who doesn't do his own work uses CAT and has had nothing but good experiences.

Fredericktowne has also treated me very well on parts purchases and the tech's are open to talking to you about repairs, etc.

You are from Butler? Too bad you are not there now. Based on dealer visits, Collins Cycles in Sutersville is one of the best I've seen. I love to stop in and chat with Steve, he is incredible.

I've had great luck at Pete's. That's where I got my Speedy.

I don't want to go off on a rant here... but

I bought at Pete's because they are 30 min away from home.

Got all the way through my paperwork during buying and had it torn up because they wrote it up wrong. Whatever. Things happen.

I ordered the alarm and tank kneepads that same night. They had over a month to install them before I could pick it up. Called a week in advance to say when you uncrate my speedy, don't forget the alarm. Installed? Nope. Ok. Stuff happens. Apparently for this dealer, this bike, it's my turn.

I should have checked the bike ALL over before I rode off the lot, but excited about it being mine mine mine I don't. What do I get for that? A phone call 3 weeks later to say.. .uh.. we gave you the wrong bike. They built 2 black speedys and gave me and someone else each other's. MY bad for not matching the VIN on the bike to the VIN on the insurance card already in my wallet! While getting this straightened out later that week, I hear a salesman say to another.. "we did that again?" OK... three strikes. Yer out.

Pete's does, however, have Simichrome, in stock. So.. they've got that going for them ...

For just about everything else, including the nice 90 minute ride each way, I like Capitol Area Triumph in PA.
