Yup its a sad day for BA.com. One of the first PM's I ever got was from Adey giving me some advice on handling a situation with a "I-know-jack$hit-head" before it got ugly. That other guy is no longer around, and now the other doo-dooheads have pushed out another senior member here....

sad day indeed!

Too bad you feel this way, but I understand it. I am one of those that met you at the NE rally, and was very impressed that someone would swim across the pond to ride with us. Good luck.

You meet a lot of people in your lifetime, but very, very few make an impact on your life, these you call true friends.

It is a SAD DAY

I have been worried without Ade's usual, insightful, witty posts. Now I am deeply saddened.

Adey,
It was a pleasure meeting you at the Nor-East Rally. I totally understand your point of view. It's a real shame that these things happen and people just can't respect the site rules and get along. We're going to miss you.

Ade -
Before you completely sign off, get my email, I know that you make it to this part of the world on occasion, and tho it was just a phone call last time you were thru town, I will still stand you a pint when you next make it to this side of the pond.

I understand your feelings right now, Ade. I also enjoyed meeting and riding with you. As a moderator, you always kept a cool head in a tense situation. As a friend you were always supportive and informative. As you leave, know that you will be missed, remembered always kindly and thought highly of. And as others have said, if you ever decide to come back and hang out for a while, we will leave a light on for you! Carpe diem, brother and ....ride safe....Gordon

WTF? I go to town for a couple hours and, when I get back, Adey's up and quit! Crikeys, at least he could hang around as a regular member and just stop moderating. Here's virtual kick in the nickers for anyone responsible for this. *BOOT*

I'm glad I got to meet you and I will miss ya. You are one of the few who look and sound like I pictured.
Please keep in touch with someone so that us who care can get an update on your life.
It's not wasted site space to say goodbye to a friend. I hate to see ya go but I respect your decision.

Because it's my b'day today, and I don't want to get myself
all worked up, all I'm gonna say is: Adey, I'm truely sorry
to see you go.

This, however, won't be the last I have to say about this.
Regretably,

Sorry to hear the bad news as it is always sad to see the good guys go. I am just glad to get to meet you at last years NorEast Rally. Hopefully you will still make the trip from time to time. Always a pleasure meeting and seeing people that are that dedicated to fly across the pond just to ride with fellow Triumph riders.

While it stinks to lose a key member of the comunity from what I can tell in the short time I've been here, I understand completely.
I'm a mod for a very busy football forum with over 50K members, and more often then not, it's a thankless job.

Good luck in everything you do, ride safe, and god bless.

It truly is a sad day to lose one of the legends of this forum. This day in infamy ranks right up there with Robert's absence from posting. Ba.com is a lesser place now, and a Jaffa cake just won't taste the same.

Ton up Adey! May our paths cross again.

Your wanting to quit being a Moderator I can understand, but why can't you pop in from time to time as a member? You're not getting rid of your bike are you?

WOW!
I'm touched guys (though y'all knew that already )

It's certainly going to be strange - imagine, say, going into your favourite local coffee shop several times a day and your buddies are always there when you drop in ... now imagine dropping in several times a day for 3 years or so ... now imagine NOT going there any more .... weird, eh?

Thanks for the kind words and .. well, I dunno how many PMs.

I'll have to ask to be deleted more often .. er, forget that, it's a one time deal!

I was particularly touched by the e-mails I received from many of the European heads of State.
Also, the e-mail from George Dubya who has announced a National day of mourning across 25 states!
No .. wait, my printer is playing up ... oh ... it's 25 streets!!

What the hey, thanks guys, now be off with you for I have much to do!
UK time is 0243 and I'm still working! I think I just realised what I'll be doing with my new-found 'free' time!

Be well y'all.

Yeah...I just sent a PM to someone else and in my inbox I've got "deleted user" next to ones he sent.
The stupid bit is they're all daft ones like "Do you wanna meet for coffee" or that kind of thing, and I really should make room in there (I'm up to 174 messages...) but right now I can't delete them.

Just ain't gonna be the same.

This is truly a sad day. Adey was the first to welcome me to this site and I have always enjoyed is wit and humor. I still laugh when I think of him buying that Buick Riv. in England no less. This makes me wonder where we are going.
