I wear helmets 95% of the time but just hate having the government tell me I have to wear one. Glad they don't in Ohio.

I think it's unique to wear one so that is why I don't feel self-concious around other riders who don't. Kinda like when I was a teenager and decided not to continue smoking cause all my buddies did and I wanted to be different.

A few other reasons; (1) grew up motocrossing so got used to it, (2) saved my head 4 years ago when my hand got caught in my front bicycle spoke (19mph) and pile drove my head into the ground. Bike helmet was cracked 2 directions, head saw stars by I survived, (3) 3 days ago my friend got hit on his bicycle at 10mph by an auto and his head broke the windshield. Unconcious for 5+ minutes but he survived and was at work today. Figure if it works on my roadbike it certainly has value on my TBA.
