You hit it Benny. This is what I was trying to confirm. I like the location of the Gauge on the crankcase, but somewhere in constant view makes more sense. Some of the other threads mentioned trouble with oil leaks if you don't get the washers all lined up, hence my thoughts on an easier connection point.

Was with a guy last night that has a Bonneville and the braided line to the banjo bolt, gauge mounted on the crankcase. He was very happy that he finally got it to stop leaking.
