I think the banjo bolt is a good location because it is in the defined flow path of the oil where it is important to know the pressure. You can't really just take ambient crank case pressure... it isn't telling the story you need. Know what I mean?
As for pressure, I definitely run above 60.. I'll pay more attention tomorrow.
