I wear my modular HJC all the time. In the past I've ridden without a helmet, usually very short distances, either in very hot weather or with a passenger who isn't wearing a helmet. But these occasions are extremely rare. In hot weather I'll lose the leather jacket before I get rid of the helmet, and never when riding at highway speeds.
