Has anyone thought of putting the dual headlights found on the R-III and Speed Triple on a Speedmaster. I had this random thought of what they might look like.

If you have, was the mod easy? What tools were needed? Do you have pics?

I like the idea of the dual headlight, but don't know if the overall look will go well with a Speedmaster. Thanks for any advice or comments.

Seems that someone did that a while (couple of years) back. Had pictures but I don't recall who it is.

A New Zealand company used to produce the kits, but has stopped. Shame cos I thought they looked really good.

The lights they used, for both versions, are available from most major motorcycle custom parts suppliers. Shouldn't be too hard to come up with the brackets.

Hello: Just bought a 2007 Triumph Speedmaster. Been a bike my entire life, retired MSF Instructor., thought I was done with bikes after I sold my last one last year., then stopped in a dealers shop, seen the Speedmaster, and spent the 8K. Havent rode it yet, but it takes me back in time a little. So, any tips., pros - cons. Would like to see some custom speedmasters., never was one to keep things stock. Will look for some replies, many thanks.

member Gregzilla had the dual light setup on his bike. Nelson Powersports (The Thunderbike guys in New Zealand) sold a kit at one time.

John, welcome to the site. Take a look through this Custom forum and browse through the photo posts. Quite a few have done many mods.

Thanks. I believe after I posted my statement/question, I found the site and started to go through the pics. Great site, and pics. First item I want to change is the back light. Seen a number of good ideas. Any site you know of where you can see / buy custom lights? I know you can pick up a back light, and make it fit, but if there are any "ready to mount" lights for the Speedmaster, would make it nice and easy and quick. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

can't seem to find it anywhere as an aftermarket set up. i may just order the set from triumph for the speed triple and work on mounting it myself. it pictures or ideas show up, please share.

By-the-way, i used the gunfighter/solo seat bolt mod from the miscellaneous mods section and it works great. took a bit of looking in the local hardware store, but $2.80 american is well worth not having to dig under the fender each time to change seats. i highly recommend it.

Ray, what catalog is that from?

Wonder how two of those letter "I" lamps would look, one where the stock lamp is and one underneath the tripple tree.

If I'm not mistaken, either G or two of H were used in one of the kits, and two of A or C were used in the other version.

Nice look - may end up on my Winter '08 to do list.

One minor issue to consider within a dual headlight campaign is where to park the electrical harnesses that live in the factory headlight bucket. On top of the frame under the tank may work. Gotta stay away from the low voltage coil wires though. They don't like other wires near them. Been there...

To speak the obvious, I do believe that with a little solder and heat shrink, and maybe some flat stock or angle iron here and there, one could bring this project in quite a bit cheaper than the kits go for.

I did my stretched billet headlight and if the AI is gone there is plenty of room under the tank.I did it at the same time I hid my wires in my handlebars so I had extra length but a friend of mine did the same thing without the hidden wire part so you can still do that.

Just thought I'd dig this up again, it may be useful to someone:

Oberon Twin Headlights

They're pricey but, if the quality is anything like the rest of the stuff, well worth it. (I've got Oberon billet LED indicators, footpegs and a single streetfighter b.e. mirror. The twin light setup will come as and when funds allow)
