If you're referring to the ape hangers on the Kid Rock bike, no, the stock cables will not work.

i used the stock cables, just had to re-route them.

I am suprised they worked. I went back and looked at the pic again and the throttle cables look a bit tight. Are they? do they bind when turned to lock? I too would have said they won't work since I had to put America cables on my SM to put the America bars on the 4" risers and now with 4 1/2" with 1 1/2" pull back they barely reach.

I thought the front brake line looked really tight...

I just assumed they would be tight. I believe Freedom said his buckhorns (which should be shorter than the apes) made the cables very tight.

Never noticed that......

Note the bends in (at the lever and at the keeper on the downtube)) and the routing of the clutch cable. I had the same issue when I did my buckhorns (with Jim's Spacers) and could not stand it. Went with 4" over for the clutch cable and brake line. Re-routing the throttle cables to the right side of the backbone/neck provided plenty of slack. Does not look like that's done on this one....

Davin, there has to be issues with the cables and brake line, right?

brake and throttle were ok... the clutch cable was pretty effin' tight, but it worked. if i knew he was gonna ride the thing i probably would have looked into getting a longer one. rerouting the throttle cable to the opposite side of the frame made a big difference...

The bike looks awesome Davin, especially those pipes. Not that you need or care about my two cent, but a set of retro tank badges would wrap that baby up just so.

As far as Kid Rock goes, I'm not familiar with the music, but from seeing him on the TV, he seems to have the right attitude about life and making the most of what's available to him while he can.

I dug out an old saying in his honor:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, cigar in one hand, bourbon in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO - what a ride!"
