Well get the hell out of here. I'm 46, but a big fan. You need to definitely get a shot of him on the bike for the gallery. First celebrity owner?

Awesome, I'm 41 and a huge fan of Kid Rock. I grew up in Detroit(nortwest side). I remember reading(in Torque?) that he was a proud owner, but never heard any more til now. Not to change the subject, but you almost have to grow up in Detroit to appreciate the way he combines all the different genres of music to make his. Thanks for sharing the info on his bike with us. jeff

the bike looks right...and I mean that in the best way...nothing you did looks over the top or foolish...everything just looks right...well done!!!!
tell us about the front fender and tire...again it looks right!!! I always felt the stock fender/tire arrangement looked somehow wrong...your take on it looks perfect....what did you do?

Can we get the manufacture and part number on that shock on the rear. Looks like its shorter and lowered the bike about an inch.

You can order Halcon shocks any length and they make any combination of black and chrome you can think of. Chrome body, black body/chrome spring, chrome fully shrouded, Chrome body/black shroud and vise versa....and so on.I lowered Wendys bike 2". Be aware of clearance problems when you lower. Chain guard to fender and airbox to chain as well as fender to tire but I didn't find that an issue with stock tire size.

well, the tire is a 120/90-18 so it tucks up into the fender a bit better. running this size tire requires you to cut the center out of the fender bracket, it'll rub if you don't. the shocks are bikemaster from tucker rocky, i don't have the part number here at home. they dropped it about 2"+.

At a 2" drop the chain will not clear the air box or the freak bracket. If you have the Freak you have to either cut off the tab that retains the tool box on the chain end or bend it out of the way. Also will have to notch the front of the chain guard to allow the rear fender to pass by it when suspension works Or notch enough out of the fender that it doesn't hit but I think the chain guard notch is the better solution.

Nope me either I just get out a bigger hammer. I never saw an Emgo shorty before either.I also think sliding the fork tubes up through the trip tree instead of cutting them down or finding a person to make whole new shorter tubes is the mickey mouse way of doing it.

If you don't know I can tell you a company that does the fork tubes. 1 of a few I know.

I thought the idea was to make a good looking job for little cost. The cost of cutting fork tubes is minimal. Better yet is to buy tubes custom made at a whopping $250. The fork tubes sticking up through the trees just looks like a lame backyard mechanics job.Not professional. I would have to check again but I think I paid less than $100 last set I had cut and rethreaded.

That is the guy I was going to tell him about. But there are better ones out there. Franks chrome tends to be a little below par. Used to be anyway I haven't had any done by them in about 8 years.

Just seems as a "tech" he should know what Emgo shortys are and who to have cut forks or who to get them from. Etc...

dude, i don't care about the stupid emgo shorty's. they came in with the bike, i've never seen them before, thats it. now i know. i couldn't care less about the fork tubes either, it cost me $0 to do what i did... this is what i hate about forums, there's always someone like you telling me what i should have done. i did what i did, i think it looks nice, and wanted to share. didn't you just say "do what you want, not what someone else tells you to do" in the other thread? anyways, please stop jacking my thread, if you don't like it, fine. apparently you're gods gift to motorcycle customizing, i'll never be as talented as you.

Yes I did say that. i am not gods gift and never said that. When I don't know something I admit it and ask.I have been building bikes for quite awhile and I do know a thing or 2 about it and recognise most parts when I see them. I wasn't telling you what to do. I was origonally just trying to help until you came back with that I'm a tech crap. The clearance thing was actually aimed more at others thinking of doing the same thing , again trying to be helpful. I figured you already knew about clearance issues since you had lowered one already. If that infact is Kid Rocks bike I am sure he would pay the $100 give or take to have them cut probably spring for the new custom ones even. There is no shame in not knowing but there is in having too much pride to ask when you don't.

i've only been doing in the industry professionally for 1.5 years... so yes, i 'm learning everyday, and i appreciate when people tell me things i don't know. i just get fed up when people start criticizing every little thing. not just here, but all over the internet.
i wouldn't lie abut this being kid rocks bike, i personally don't care for him. i just thought it was neat that me, a kid that grew up in a town of 700 people, has the opporituniuty to work at one of the largest triumph dealers in the world, and gets to work on a celebrities bike. this is the stuff i dreamed about when i was crusing around the yard at 4 years old on my XL 70.

Ya know that is way cool. I don't care for him either. I really only meant to be helpful until you seemed to get an attitude about it. I have been building custom bikes for close to 30 years so it follows I do know a few things. I started before I was old enough to drive. It is one of the coolest things when you can make money at what you love. I can't do that here not enough British stuff here and thats all I work on unless I am helping a friend with a Hardley. I apologise for getting short.

FWIW, nothing sounded like criticsm to me, but I'm not the builder. You definitely need to get a pix with Kid, you and the bike. That'll be one to hang by your tool box for a long time. My sport-bike riding daughter always busts on my "cruiser", telling her Kid Rock has the same bike didn't buy me any more street cred....

hahaha! i just hope he rides the thing when he gets it back! its an '02 and its only got 382 miles on it... i wouldn't ride an america either if i had 2 WCC's sitting next to it in the garage. i'm gonna try my best to get some pics. i assume we'll be delivering it, so i'll have to do some butt kissing to the boss to get to go along with him.

I would still ride mine I don't like most of those WCCs. I love choppers but I don't like those or OCCs junk.I have to hand it to Jesse James though that boy is talented. Building frames by heating pipe and bending them against plywood clamped to the bench and hammering a tank out of metal by hand. That is something I wish I could do. i could do the frame but I am not a sheet metal guy.

P.S. to me those aren't choppers. they are customs but not choppers. A chopper is when you take a factory bike and chop it.
Oh did you guys see the monster garage episode when they used a Triumph for the bike in a truck thing?

I can agree with Exile his bikes I like. I should actually try and get on his show where you get 10 days to build a bike and if it starts and you can do a burnout you keep it. I would do something fairly easy guarenteed to do the burnout then change it later! LOL 1 guy did a kick only and almost didn't get to keep it.

So Kid Rock wanted a custom made copycat bike? How lame. If he had the passion that some of us do, he would've got a frame made and really tricked it out. Instead he's just a poser.
