Took the speedmaster out for a 100 mile ride the other day. Running lean. I have to choke it a while before it warms up. I also noticed that the exhaust was starting to turn golden. I looked up behind the heat shield on the headers and notice it is bluing there also. Is this normal? I am running Epco pipes, 130 mains with about 3 turns on the pilot screws, snorkel removed. I would like to run a little richer. I live about 1000 ft above sea level. Now here's my questions. I want the "easiest" way to do this. Should I just put back the snorkel or adjust the pilot screws or god for bid rejet?? I would like to keep the pipes chrome looking.

Joe,
130's seem small for the set up you are running, check out Pat's carb jet calcuator for the right size.

Epco piles and no snorkels will probably run better with 136 mains. You might need to increase the pilot jets a bit as well.

Pat.. Don't no about Georgia but the beer sounds good! Yes, I have the AI removed. I also have the baffles in the pipes which I like. I put the snorkel back in a I think is running better now. Pat's caulator says the jets should be 129.5 with that set up. With the snorkel out it said around 131.5 so I was definitely running lean wih the 130's.
