We would pick and choose what events and what time we would go with our kids. I believe that exposure with healthy discussions about what took place gives them a much better understanding of the real world. Since they've grown, we have had conversations about this, and they agree about having a more realistic view of people than friends they know. Our friends would take their young 8-13 year old daughter to biker events and felt safer with her there than letting her walk to school. Most folks at the events we attended had no problem telling your kids that they're being a pest, while at the same time watching out for them. I'd not want to witness what would happen to and individual caught at a bike rally trying to subvert some child!

later, Tom.

But, what do I know?
