I am a noob about to take the 'MSF' course to determine if riding a bike is for me. In the meantime, I would like to ask a question or two in regards to Triumph motorcycles. So, before you guys flame me please keep in mind that I am REALLY GREEN!

Most all of the folks my age (39) in my neighborhood own Harley's and suggest that I need to purchase one for the following reasons. THEY own them and state that Harley's ride with Harley's. Two, there is a decent market for used should I decide to sell. Three, there are MANY Harley dealer's in the Nashville, TN area and that I would not find difficulties finding parts, accessories, etc. Four, because it is a Harley!

Well, I typically am not one to follow mainstream. For example, I use a Macintosh laptop. I own an electric GEM car to roam the hood instead of a golf cart. My wife and I both drive Mercedes Benz vehicles, and the list goes on. So, I was attracted to Triumph because I don't see a whole lot of them out there and thought that it would fit somewhere in between the Japanese and Harley branded bikes. Can you owners please tell me if my thinking is logical, illogical, or way off base? Why do you all out there own Triumph motorcycles and what can you tell me about them compared to the other bikes out there on the street? Please, your feedback is important to me as I am trying to do my research. Oh, and another reason why I am attracted to Triumph is that the price point is VERY ATTRACTIVE. Why are they so attractively priced? Is it just that Harley's are OVERPRICED?

Regards,
Scott
