The coating on the fork legs, rear brake reservoir, and the foot control bar is that paint or powder coat?

What is the easiest way to get it off. Was thinking about polishing the fork legs and have the cover and foot control bar chromed. Or would it be less trouble to just buy the chrome ones?

Sand blasting with walnut shells works well. Doesn't pit as badly. Then... LOTS of sanding.

Any good paint stripper works well for removing the powder coat.

If you find a place that does good powdercoating they will usually sand blast it as well. I've found the local custom shop (Thunder Alley) will usually give you the # of the people they use. I found a really good guy that does it all for fairly cheap. He blasted and powdercoated my buddies frame, wheels and small parts for around $200.00.

Here's what I know from trial & error:
Black parts are powder coat. Can't remember if I ever tried stripper on them. Had my frame blasted.
Have tried (aircraft) stripper on yokes & risers. No effect at all. It did soften a test spot on a fork leg, though. I think they're paint.
Don't know about the stuff Soren came up with. Sounds interesting though. My powder coat guy says he has stripper that will work. Maybe that's what it is.
Eastwood has a "powder coat & paint dissolver". Pretty pricey, though.
The part I'm wondering about is the front axle spacer. Haven't been able to strip, sand, or buff it. Buffing with emery just produces a glaze. Best guess is it's hard anodized.
