SHAW - A Shaw man was killed this past weekend when he accidentally lost control of his new motorcycle while pulling into his driveway, authorities said.
Marvin Thorton was parking his new sports bike under his carport Saturday morning when he apparently gave the bike too much gas, said Shaw Police Chief Robert Sanders.
Thorton was thrown from the motorcycle and struck his head when he landed between a parked vehicle and the brick wall of the carport, Sanders said.
A friend of Thorton who was on the scene contacted the police.
Sanders said Thorton had worn a helmet during his ride but had taken it off before parking the bike.
