I think definately 2nd and 3rd year riders have alot to do with it. Overconfidence. Still have to chalk some up to stupidity and carelessness. The 2 mentioned above probably not new riders although who knows. It is easy to find yourself in trouble on a curve full of marbles. I always ride more caucously in spring especially on the corners. I also always expect cars to pull out infront of me or cut me off. Keeps me alive.
