Need some advice:
The weather has dried up and warmed up enough at times in the last few weeks to get out and ride a couple of times. That's the good news. The bad news? The last time I was out the throttle seems to stick most of the time. That is to say that when I roll on it just stays there and doesn't spring back on its own. I can roll off just fine, but it spooked me a bit the first time it happened.
Do I just need to lube somewhere?

If you can roll it off, most likely it is in the throtle control in the handlebar end. Take the assyembly apart and wipe it down (no lube- attracts dirt that turns to sticky goop). As a back up, check the linkage at the carbs to make sure nothing made a winter home in there. It's a simple setup of a cable, linkage and spring. If there are no obstructions at the linkage and the throttle control isn't gooed up, the cable may have gone bad. If you try to lube the cable, use a dry lube like graphite powder.
How old is it?

Purchased new August '06--right before the rain started here, so still very few miles. Kept in a garage over winter and ridden once a month or so.
By take the assembly apart you mean the whole right hand grip? I don't have the shop manual yet. I'm pretty mechanical, but I havn't had anything on the bars apart yet. Is it obvious what to do?
I do have some dry graphite lube that I use in car door locks.

Under warranty? Take it to the dealer.... It should snap back nice and crisp.
Yes it is straight forward- 2 screws.
But seriously, take it to the dealer. It's a safety issue and it shouldn't cost you anything.

Thanks for help. This is one of those "Glad I'm the only Triumph in my town, but I sure wish there were more dealers" stories. I bought it about 2 and half hours away from home. The trip involves a mountain pass. Could be fun, but not realistic for every little thing.
Think I'll try slipping it apart myself.

One other thing to check.....mine was doing it. The control section of the throttle side...dont know what to call it. The assembly that houses the on/off switch, your mirror bolts in etc.etc. If that moves toward the bar ends it can pinch the throttle grip and cause it to stick. I had to loosen the controls and slide them inboard about a 1/16".

Onetbpone, you don't have to take it all apart, just loosen the two allen screws and tighten them again. That fixes about 99% of them that stick.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

My 03 did the same thing last year. It turned out to be the grip had moved out to the bar end. All I had to do was loosen it and move it back away from the bar end.All better.
Good luck
