I know what you mean, Mike. But I have to tell you I find myself in 4th sometimes, thinking I'm in 5th, and occassionally still look for that elusive 6th. I really never was bothered by the 16t even on long Interstate rides - the vibration (or lack of?) just never made me not like the ride. The 18t is completely different, though, and along with the lower rpm at 70 mph, I really appreciate the ability to run up those taller 2nd and 3rd gears to try to keep my speed down near the lower speed limits. I'm really listening to my exhaust more now at all speeds - and don't know whether to attribute it to the pipes mellowing some, the lower (or higher) rpms (depending on the situation), or both. I don't need "tuning issues", though I'm not afraid to turn a wrench. But I don't have to be LOUD to try to prove how big my cods are, either. I appreciate the sound of the parallel twin engine, and our 270 degree fireing order, in every flavor. I never "hot rodded" my cars or trucks either - stock exhaust, OEM replacement parts. Doesn't mean I'm not a big Nascar fan though. GO ROUSH RACING!
