Did you not tell them about the alarm?? I would as it takes a load of the insurance. If you did then you have them over a barrel as you've told them about it. With me it didn't matter as I bought her back. And when she's back on the road I'll still need the alarm as I'm too young (just think of insurance costs...)
If the bike is written off then it won't matter if there's no plug to replace it.
And Matt....the console needs to come off if you are taking the tank off...
You'll also need an allan (hex) key, but of the top of my head I don't remember what size...
But if you do take it off, I wouldn't bother reconnecting the tank. Just put it back on, and make it look that it is. The breather pipe can be a right pain to reconnect.
And I have next to no mechanical skills, but I'm learning. I also have a dealer that's very nice to me.... and a dad who is gonna teach me loads in the rebuild.
I don't know if you've realised but never be afraid to ask questions on here. I've asked some really stupid ones in my time, and still do.
Just glad it hasn't completely put you of riding and you are gonna get an 07...
