That was one of the first things I put on. I don't remember the details other than the hardest part was snaking them in and out past the exhaust..

yep just did mine...like grump says the ardest part was snaking the bar (which was not hard)...

on a scale of 1-5 I give this project a

and even that is if your start the beer before you collect the required tools and such

I changed my bent bar for a stock replacement last Saturday. I would agree simple project, provided you have a decent set of allen wrenches. Which are required for any work on a triumph. I would say less than 15 minutes start to finish. I would rate is 1 real beer and 1/2 a bud light.

The bolt that holds the bracket that holds my right side peg on is starting to strip. I tried taking it off last year to clean up/polish. Decided to leave it...

benny,

thanks for that info. i just dealt with a broken strut bolt that goes through into the fender when putting on my sissy bar. i ended up drilling it out till it collapsed. On the fender the bolts are exposed to the elements and can get rusty and if i would have known this, i wd. have drenched them a bit w/ Deep Creep.

i'm going to do that w/ the peg bolts.

thanks,

Yeah If I decide to take mine off, I think some penetrating oil, some heat, and an impact wrench are in order. I have all of that, except the proper allan head for the impact driver.

i installed the new chrome control arm. looks good on the speedy with a splash of chrome down there. but now i have to clean that area more.

i had to adjust the shift rod a bit; somehow i moved something and downshifts into first were awkward. also, i think i cross-threaded 1 bolt on the frame as it went in harder than the others, but it might just be the odd angle.

then got everything back together and realized i had to put that allignment pin in on the brake side.

it all works now.

maybe a chrome valve cover next?
