Cycle World or Motorcyclist just reviewed the Super Duke, and while they loved it, said it was no longer price competitive. Five years ago, when it came out, it would have been a must have, now that field is pretty crowded. (all this per the magazine article).
Go S3! Once you ride one, you can't wipe the grin off your face. How about the Tiger? Very S3 like, but probably easier to live with in the long haul (fairing, bags).
